Before joining Jobs With Justice, Pineda represented and advocated for graduate students’ rights as the Graduate Student Association president at Western Michigan University. He holds a law degree from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he worked as a labor lawyer before pursuing an M.A. at Western. Pineda completed his Ph.D. in political science with a focus on comparative politics and political theory in December 2021. Currently, he is a fellow practitioner at Georgetown University’s Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor.
