Walmart Workers Risk Arrest in 15 Cities Demanding Decent Wages, Reinstatement of Fired Workers

Last week, Walmart workers supported by Jobs with Justice and many others engaged in civil disobedience near Walmart stores in protest of the company’s unjust retaliation practices. More than 80 workers have been terminated after they went on strike against unfair labor practices at the company in June. Workers had gone on strike and traveled to Bentonville to demand the company change course—altering such bad practices as uneven scheduling, unsafe working environments, and wages that forced some workers to live out of their cars.

The OUR Walmart leaders gave company executives a deadline of Labor Day to reinstate fired workers, and when that deadline passed with silence they took to the streets from Seattle to Chicago to Boston.
