I AM HANGING UP ON VERIZON WIRELESS

Workers at Verizon Wireless (VZW) lack basic workplace rights and receive inadequate health and retirement benefits. When they have tried to organize to fix these problems, VZW has conducted a campaign of illegal firings, threats, intimidation, and worker surveillance and has even shut down Northeast call centers and moved them to “right to work” states.

I am appalled to learn that Verizon Wireless does not respect the rights of its workers. Verizon Wireless employees deserve the right to freely and fairly form a union, to secure a voice on the job and to have their wages, benefits and working conditions protected by a legally binding contract. I am aware that union activists at Verizon Wireless have been fired and retaliated against, and that Verizon Wireless failed to abide by its own neutrality and card-check recognition agreement.
