Jobs with Justice Campaigns
Jobs with Justice seeks strategic fights that build power for working people and address the root causes of the problems facing workers & communities. Jobs with Justice coalitions work on a range of issues from labor law reform to health care; from union organizing campaigns to immigrant rights.
In 2009, Jobs with Justice local coalitions worked on a total of 111 workplace justice campaigns affecting more than 135,000 workers. JwJ helped more than 10,000 workers win union recognition or their first union contract, helped more than 28,000 workers win bargaining campaigns in 2009, and helped keep 3 workplaces from closing, saving 3,000 jobs. Jobs with Justice also worked on 130 community campaigns in 2009 on a range of issues from health care to accountable development to state minimum wage increases to global justice.
As a national network of local coalitions, Jobs with Justice is ideally placed to run national campaigns that are based in the grassroots. Our national office can coordinate collective action that magnifies our local coalitions' individual impact.
