Thousands of California Workers Need You to #BeTheHelp!
This weekend as the world's attention focuses on the award-winning film, "The Help" and the courageous domestic workers that are portrayed in the movie, domestic workers and allies from around the country will be hosting viewing parties to highlight the struggles today's domestic workers face, and the need to pass labor protections like AB889.
AB889-California Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, would provide equal pay for equal work for thousands of Californians who have been excluded from basic labor protections for decades.
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka showed his support for the California Domestic Workers Bill of Rights this past Wednesday at a Rally and Lobby Day in Sacramento. He was joined with the California Domestic Worker Coalition, allies, Jobs with Justice San Francisco and hundreds of supporters.
"Jobs with Justice is part of the National Caring Across Generations Campaign and we believe the passage of AB889 is a huge milestone and will added momentum to our efforts to address the growing care crisis nationally." Said Gordon Mar, Jobs with Justice San Francisco Coordinator.
You can support by adding your name to the AB889-change.org petition. Your support will #BeTheHelp needed to reach the goal of 10,000 signers!
